EU Support for the Implementation of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Strategy 2– Education for integration (hereafter only EU SIMRAES 2) aims to support Kosovo government in the implementation of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Strategy and its Action Plan. The project is funded by European Union and is being implemented by Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS), Kosova Education Center (KEC) and six other partner organizations.
With the aim to promote non-discrimination and inter-culturalism in schools, the four day anti-bias training program “Education for Social Justice” was organized in Istok on 12- 15 July 2016. Participants of this training were a group of teachers of targeted schools and Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian parents from Serbobran and Gurrakoc.
The purpose of the training is to increase participants’ knowledge, understanding and sensitivity for mechanisms that perpetuate and maintain the system of domination, and to build their commitment to the process of capacity building for personal, professional and institutional transformation.
The training will continue in September-November 2016 with participants of eight other Learning Centers located in Gjakova, Rahovec, Prizren, Obiliq, Fushë Kosova and Mitrovica (250 participants in total).
